PHOTO: New Image of Journalist Assaulted in Chechnya

It is worth recalling that days earlier, in Chechnya, journalist Elena Milashina from 'Novaya Gazeta' and lawyer Alexander Nemov were assaulted and subsequently transferred to a hospital in Moscow.

Journalistic equipment and documents were destroyed during the attack. The lawyer also reported receiving threats of execution, with a gun held to their heads. The assailants demanded that they leave and refrain from writing anything about the incident.

The lawyer sustained a knife wound to the leg, while the journalist suffered a traumatic brain injury; the attackers broke the fingers of her hand, insisting she disable her phone.
