Who is the Person Responsible for the Death of Kanaker's Tui, Found Two Years Later
On May 18, shortly past midnight, officers from the Main Criminal Police Department discovered and arrested a 29-year-old man from Yerevan in one of the buildings in the Sanahin Railway neighborhood of Alaverdi, who had been wanted since 2021 for charges of murder and illegal possession of firearms.
The young man had been evading law enforcement for two years in connection with the murder of Kanaker's Tui, namely Artush Simonian, a former member of parliament, and Arthur Ghazaryan, a criminal authority. The authorities had not disclosed his identity until now.
According to ArmLur.am, it has become known that the arrested individual is Tigran Harutyunyan, who has been accused of conspiring with his relatives—former MP Artush Simonian, his sons Vladimir Simonian, Hovhannes Simonian, and Hakob Simonian, and their close associate Arsen Aleksanyan—to murder Arthur Ghazaryan (Tui), Araik Khachatryan, Arthur Ashoti Boryan, Gevorg Arthur Jaburyan, and Gegham Artush Ghazaryan on November 11, 2021. The incident occurred around 2:36 AM in the courtyard of house 16A on 16th Street in Kanaker, Yerevan, during a confrontation when they had illegally acquired firearms and openly fired at each other, unlawfully taking the lives of Arthur Ghazaryan, Araik Khachatryan, and Arthur Boryan, causing gunshot wounds to Gegham Ghazaryan and Gevorg Jaburyan, but failing to complete the killings due to circumstances beyond their control, as G. Ghazaryan and G. Jaburyan fled the scene.
It is worth noting that on the night of November 11, 2021, as a result of gunfire heard starting from 2:45 AM, former MP 61-year-old Artush Simonian was also killed. His sons are currently in custody, and the case is ongoing in court.
