Ukrainian Health Ministry Advises on Evacuation Readiness in Case of Nuclear Power Plant Explosion

The Ukrainian Health Ministry has warned residents of the Zaporizhia region about being prepared for evacuation in the event of an incident at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. This was reported by Iz.ru.

On Tuesday, July 4, the Health Ministry published a memorandum outlining the actions residents should take in the event of an explosion at the nuclear station.

"In the case of an explosion at the nuclear power plant, and a potential radiation accident, residents must be ready for possible evacuation. If authorities officially announce a radiation accident, stay at home or move to another area as soon as possible," the ministry stated on its Telegram channel.

The department also emphasized the necessity of following the authorities' instructions. During an evacuation, residents should pack their bags with documents, face masks or respirators, medications, as well as wet wipes, change their clothes and shoes, and have a minimum supply of food and water.
