Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan Train Services Restored

The international train route from Yerevan to Batumi and back, which was disrupted by a landslide on July 2, has been restored.

Although traffic has resumed on the damaged section of the Georgian railway in a limited mode, the Georgian side has agreed to the operation of the international train from Yerevan to Batumi. This was announced by the press secretary of the South Caucasian Railway, Ruben Grdzelyan.

In the coming days, the schedule for international trains will not change; however, the possibility of reviewing it in the future is being discussed.

The South Caucasus Railways company requests the passengers' understanding and reminds them that the current situation is due to the adverse weather conditions that have persisted in Armenia and Georgia in recent months.

Recently, a landslide situation also developed in northern Armenia, when a mudflow on June 6-7 damaged the railway near Alaverdi.
