The Charges Are Completely Groundless: Statement from Vladimir Gasparyan's Lawyers

The defense believes that the charges are entirely baseless and the result of a report constructed from one person's imagination. This was stated by the legal team of former Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan.

“Statement Regarding the Case of Vladimir Gasparyan: Today, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia announced the completion of the preliminary investigation and forwarded new charges to the court on two counts. The defense maintains that the charges are completely unfounded and stem from a report crafted by one individual's imagination. We do not consider this criminal prosecution in a political context, as there has been a legally mandated report which serves as the basis for legal proceedings. We are confident that Vladimir Gasparyan will be acquitted, while the individual who submitted the report will face criminal liability for filing a false report.

We are breaking our declared silence as it has created misunderstandings within the public, and we will periodically issue statements in the future.
