Authorities Urge Non-Participation in Signature Campaigns, Threaten Dismissal of Officials

As previously reported, authorities are making every effort to obstruct the "Hayakve" signature collection campaign. This is noted by the "Fact" newspaper.

New details regarding this issue have come to light for "Fact." Specifically, we have information that some district leaders from Yerevan recently held a closed meeting with heads of cooperatives, directors of schools and kindergartens, and other institution leaders under their jurisdiction. They were sternly instructed to refrain from participating in the signature campaign, emphasizing that those who disobeyed would be immediately dismissed from their positions.

According to our sources, representatives of the authorities specifically underlined that there should be no "bargaining" over the Artsakh issue, and severely reprimanded individuals who had already joined the signature campaigns, urging them not to engage in any propaganda within their teams and to do everything possible to prevent their team members from participating in the signature campaign.

We have been informed that similar issues exist in Gyumri and Vanadzor as well.
