Previously, the Anti-Corruption Committee released a statement regarding Gevorg Simonyan, who served as the Deputy Minister of Health from 2020 to 2022. He was responsible for the allocation of state funding and had a patron-client relationship with the director of the "Medline" clinic. It was found that he failed to exercise adequate oversight, resulting in Babken Shahumyan embezzling around 120 million drams.
This criminal case has led to a series of arrests and detentions, with most of those arrested being doctors from the "Medline" medical center.
