Video: Is it Time to Execute Spies? A Deputy Responds to the President of Artsakh
A legislative change will occur, with stricter penalties leading to imprisonment, and the durations of imprisonment will increase. This was announced by the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, during a discussion in the Artsakh parliament regarding the increasing incidents of espionage and treason.
When asked if it is time to apply the death penalty to these individuals, Araik Harutyunyan responded, "I don’t think that is the right approach; we should think differently. To be honest, these people are lost individuals. Their actions are indeed treasonous, but they are misguided, deceived, and brainwashed. Some provide analyses about the situation in Artsakh for money, without understanding that nothing comes for free in this world. Posing as a French person interested in the internal affairs of Artsakh, they inquire about the grievances of certain political figures or the public, but that analysis isn’t needed by the French. They realize that this person is not French, and if they pursue this, it is obvious what their purpose is.
They focus more on collecting information about our daily lives, understanding where we have problems, in order to exacerbate those issues, rather than knowing the location of a specific military unit, as they have no trouble locating such units from above. Their goal is to comprehend our internal political issues and to divide us.
