Video: 'You Factually Stopped a Civil War' - Putin

The President of Russia stated that the determination and bravery of the military personnel, along with the unification of society, played a decisive role in suppressing the armed rebellion.

The soldiers who participated in the suppression of the rebellion effectively halted a civil war. This statement was made by President Vladimir Putin in a message directed to the units of the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Federal Protection Service, which participated in preventing the rebellion attempt on June 24.

“You defended the constitutional order, the lives of our citizens, their safety and freedom. You kept our homeland from shocks, and effectively stopped a civil war. In a complicated situation, you acted precisely, systematically, and proved your fidelity to the people of Russia and the military oath through your actions. You demonstrated responsibility for the fate of the homeland and its future,” Putin told the security forces.
