Photos Were Claimed Not to Exist in Military Barracks for 3 Months, But They Did Exist - Norikyan

For three months, there were persistent claims that no video or photographic recordings had taken place; however, we have received over ten photographs from the Rescue Service. Although they are incomplete, they confirm that good video and photographic documentation had been conducted at the site. This was stated today, July 3, at a press conference by lawyer Norair Norikyan, representing the parents of the 15 servicemen who died in the fire that broke out at the military barracks in the village of Azat.

When asked where the bodies of the servicemen were located in those photographs, Norikyan responded that it was not captured; it does not show. “It is shot from the moment they presumably found it appropriate to provide us with the information. However, the initial conclusion is that if so much has been photographed, it is excluded that there was no recording and filming in the preceding period. I will refrain from making further claims, as there are other conclusions as well,” the lawyer said, adding that at that time, supposedly, the bodies had already been removed.

It is worth recalling that on January 19 of this year, around 01:30, a fire broke out in the barracks of the engineering company of the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit located in the Azat village area, claiming the lives of 15 conscript soldiers. Seven soldiers were transferred to the Vardenis hospital, of which four were discharged after receiving medical assistance, and three were transferred to Yerevan with severe injuries at the National Center for Burn Medicine.
