Peskov Comments on Assassination Attempt Against Crimea's Leader
Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, in a briefing with reporters, responded to a question about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin was aware of the assassination attempt against Crimea's leader Sergey Aksyonov. He stated that Putin "receives reports."
Additionally, the Kremlin spokesperson described the leader of the Republic of Crimea as a true fighter. "This does not scare him. We wish him mental strength and resilience," he said.
Sergey Aksyonov himself thanked the personnel of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for preventing the assassination attempt against him via his Telegram channel. At the same time, the republic's leader expressed confidence that those behind this crime would be identified and punished.
It is known that a Russian citizen recruited by Ukraine's Security Service, who was arrested by Russia's security forces while preparing to blow up Aksyonov's car, has confessed.
