Parents of Soldiers Killed in Azat Meet with Pashinyan for the Second Time: Lawyer

The lawyer of the parents of the 15 servicemen killed in the fire at the military barracks in Azat village, Norayr Norikyan, stated during a press conference today that significant investigative actions involving the parents took place in Azat village in April.

"There were conditions set for the parents that I should not participate in that meeting. On April 30, we submitted a request for an additional forensic examination, posing the following questions to the experts: how long after the leak of carbon monoxide at the location where the servicemen were could it be fatal? If there was a carbon monoxide leak at the site of the servicemen's deaths, could the surviving servicemen have avoided poisoning at that moment? Is it possible that the servicemen were poisoned by another substance before being exposed to carbon monoxide, which could have caused them to lose consciousness? Did the servicemen simultaneously experience burn shock and carbon monoxide poisoning, or were these events temporally separated?" The investigative body fully accepted the request, and an additional forensic examination was scheduled for May 25, the results of which have not yet been received.

He also noted that there had recently been a second closed meeting between the Prime Minister and the parents of the soldiers. "According to our unofficial information, it is possible that the expert conclusions will be obtained in July, after which there is a high probability that the investigative body will announce the completion of the preliminary investigation and that the case will be sent to court."
