Georgian Opposition Planned to Enter Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Sochi with Tanks - Kobakhidze

The chairman of the ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia" party, Irakli Kobakhidze, claims that some Georgian opposition members allegedly planned to enter Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and even Sochi with tanks during the rebellion attempt led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the private military company "Wagner" in Russia. His statements were cited by TASS.

Kobakhidze added that the opposition demonstrated through their reaction to the events in Russia that they would welcome any excuse to open a second front in Georgia. According to the political figure, if a second front were opened in Georgia, they would have to fight against both Abkhazians and Ossetians.

The party leader emphasized that in this case, Georgians, Abkhazians, and Ossetians would once again shed each other's blood, which would be the "greatest crime against future generations." Kobakhidze further noted that Georgia's territorial integrity should only be restored through peaceful means, and the republic must not only regain lost territories but also restore the trust of the Abkhazians and Ossetians.

It should be reminded that Georgia is not planning to open a "second front," as Ukraine demands, while criticizing Tbilisi's refusal to impose sanctions against Russia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
