Armenian Soldiers Abducted in Azerbaijan Forced to Give False Testimonies

Armenian soldiers Harutyun Hovakimyan and Karen Ghazaryan, who were abducted in Azerbaijan, have been compelled to provide "necessary" testimonies. This claim is supported by reports circulating in Azerbaijani media asserting that the soldiers do not consider Azerbaijan an enemy country and regret their actions. Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani armed forces had previously abducted the Armenian servicemen.

Earlier, it was reported that an illegal trial of the abducted Armenian soldiers has begun in Azerbaijan. The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for July 5.

It is worth noting that the soldiers were abducted by an Azerbaijani sabotage group that infiltrated the territory of Armenia in May. Communication with two servicemen supplying food to the combat positions of the RA Armed Forces was lost on May 26 at 19:00. According to the Ministry of Defense, a vehicle loaded with food and water, designated for combat positions, was discovered during searches along the route. It later became clear that the soldiers had been abducted by Azerbaijanis.
