Trump: Putin Has Weakened to Some Extent
Former President of the United States Donald Trump has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has "weakened to some extent" due to the failed rebellion, and now it is time for the United States to try to mediate peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters.
"You can say that Putin is still there, he is still strong, but he has certainly, I would say, weakened to some extent," Trump noted.
In an interview with Reuters, the former president did not rule out that the Kyiv government might concede certain territories to Russia to stop the war. "I want people to stop dying because of this ridiculous war," Trump stated. "I think the biggest thing the U.S. should do right now is to establish peace—bringing Russia and Ukraine together and making peace happen. You can do it. It is time to bring the two sides together to impose peace," he added.
Regarding the war crimes charges brought against Putin by the International Criminal Court last March, Trump said that the Russian president's fate should be discussed when the war ends, "because right now, if you bring that up, you will never make peace."
