The Author of the Letter Demanding the Prime Minister's Resignation Was Tigran Khachatryan, Says Andranik Kocharyan
I cannot understand and comprehend the military's stance on the events of February. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security, in an interview with NEWS.am, referring to the letter issued in February 2021, which demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister.
“I understand very well how that letter came to be, but the last one to sign that letter was General Lieutenant Onik Gasparyan. We have called the initiator of the letter to the investigative committee multiple times, but he is fluttering around in political arenas because he was previously part of the Dashnak Party. Recently, he also expressed his views about Pashinyan, which were not state-oriented. Now, if you put together the statements made by the former head of the General Staff and the former deputy head of the General Staff, one reflects a perception of the state, while the other appears to be more brotherhood-oriented. We are talking about Tigran Khachatryan,” he said.
Referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remark that he has doubts there might be foreign involvement, Andranik Kocharyan stated, “Certainly, if we had the intelligence agencies that we dream of having, we would not have doubts; we would know with confidence who is behind it.”
