421 Arrested During Unrest in France: BFM

Protests that erupted in France following the police shooting of a teenager have seen participation from 6,200 people. As a result of the unrest, 421 individuals have been arrested, according to BFM television.

In particular, 14 people were arrested after a store was looted in the Les Halles district in central Paris. Overall, at least 242 individuals have been apprehended in the French capital. A curfew has been imposed overnight in Clamart, Compiègne, and Noisy-le-Grand, as well as in the Oise department.

The largest riots in France since 2005 began in the Nanterre suburb of Paris and have spread to other cities over the past three days. The cause was the death of a 17-year-old teenager who was shot by police during a routine traffic check. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation.
