Video: We Will Have An Alternative Road from Syunik to Yerevan, Says Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a government meeting that a new road from the regional center of Syunik to Yerevan is under construction.

"It is already nearing completion. We will definitely finish it this year, right? You remember that after the well-known events, the road leading to the Islamic Republic of Iran's border went through the bends of Tatev, which was impassable and at the same time fully utilized, and during this time we were able to ensure the functionality of that road. This was also due to the fact that the Tatev-Aghvani road segment had been previously planned; of course, due to circumstances, we expedited it, although quality-related issues arose during the process, but we overcame those. After that, it was decided to construct a second road – Tatev-Ltsen-Shamb and Noravan-Ltsen-Shamb. This significantly reduces the travel time from Meghri and Kapan to Yerevan and we will have an alternative road, which is very important," Pashinyan asked, addressing the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan.
