Video: Tsarukyan Refuses to Answer Journalists' Questions
“It’s all over, I answered all questions two days ago,” said the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, responding to journalists at the court yard regarding their observation that his speech in court was not concluded.
It was reported that during the court hearing regarding Gagik Tsarukyan and the director of Multi Group Concern, Sedrak Arustamyan, a verbal clash occurred between Tsarukyan and prosecutor David Agajanyan.
Recall that Tsarukyan and Arustamyan have been charged under part 2 of Article 154.2 of the former Criminal Code (bribery of voters). According to the prosecution, the incident took place during the National Assembly elections in Armenia on April 2, 2017. The bribe was reportedly given to vote for a specific candidate.
On April 21, 2023, the prosecutor confirmed the indictment against them and it was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court along with the case materials. On May 2, it became known that the Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the case concerning Tsarukyan and Arustamyan.
