If you've been deceived multiple times, then you are hopelessly foolish: Tiran Khachatryan to Pashinyan
A discussion with former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, was held regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements in the parliamentary investigative committee exploring the circumstances of the war at the borders of Armenia and Artsakh.
“This situation is a result of our authorities’ weak and inconsistent policies; we should not expect anything good from this situation. Daily casualties, a degraded status, a life lived with a mentality of servitude—this is the price we have paid for the peace agenda declared by the authorities,” he said.
Regarding Pashinyan’s accusatory comments in the parliamentary committee directed at the General Staff and military leadership that they reported incorrectly about the situation, Tiran Khachatryan responded: “There is a simple truth—if you are deceived once, the deceiver is a fool; if you are deceived repeatedly, then you are doubly foolish. A person who is responsible for something, when they claim they have been continuously deceived, is hopelessly foolish. How foolish or spineless can one be to allow themselves to be deceived repeatedly? Nonetheless, I insist that no one in the General Staff of the Armed Forces has ever considered misleading or providing incorrect information to the authorities,” Khachatryan stated.
