“It is legal, but not appropriate”: Sweden's Prime Minister on Burnt Quran
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Yalmars Kristersson has announced that the decision to allow the burning of the Quran is legal but not appropriate. This information was reported by Reuters.
It was previously revealed that the Swedish police approved a protest action to burn the Quran near the main mosque in Stockholm on the first day of the Kurban Bayram holiday.
“It is legal, but not appropriate,” Kristersson said during a press conference held in Stockholm. The Prime Minister noted that he would not comment on the impact of this action on Sweden's NATO membership process, adding that the permission to burn the Quran falls within the authorities of the police.
As previously stated, in Sweden, coinciding with the start of Kurban Bayram, the police have allowed the burning of the Quran at the mosque in Stockholm.
