Court Orders Vahagn Aleksanyan to Pay 655,500 Drams for Unpaid Tuition Fees
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "The Yerevan Court of First Instance, presided over by Judge Zhanna Asatryan, has ruled to collect 655,500 drams from National Assembly MP Vahagn Aleksanyan in favor of the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.
Previously, we reported that the university filed a lawsuit to recover the amount against the MP from the ruling Civil Contract party.
The issue is that Vahagn Aleksanyan studied at the university's Faculty of Law specializing in 'Constitutional Law, Theory of State and Law,' but left the university due to an academic debt of 12 credits. In other words, he did not pass his exams successfully and was expelled.
However, Aleksanyan remained in debt to the university for tuition, which is why the institution took legal action against the MP. The court granted the claim on May 26." More details are available in today's issue of the newspaper.
