Artsakh President Calls Emergency Consultation to Discuss Current Military-Political Situation
The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, convened an emergency consultation on June 28 to discuss the current military-political situation.
According to the President's Office, the participants of the consultation observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of four servicemen of the Defense Army who fell victim to the Azerbaijani attack overnight.
President Harutyunyan emphasized that the ongoing Azerbaijani aggression and repression against the Republic of Artsakh and its people contradict the international community's calls to resolve issues through peaceful negotiations and the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, and cannot contribute to the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
The President underscored Artsakh's constant readiness to peacefully resolve existing issues and to refrain from escalating the fragile situation.
Defense Minister Kamo Vardanyan presented a report on the operational situation along the line of contact with Azerbaijan. The President provided a series of directives to the heads of relevant departments aimed at ensuring the security of the people of Artsakh.
