VIDEO: If You Were in Vigen Khachatryan's Place, He Would Have Attended Your Wake, Konyan Says
Member of Parliament of the ruling party, Hayk Konyan, addressed the opposition from the podium of the National Assembly. He stated, "Their colleague, Vigen Khachatryan, with whom they have worked—through good times and bad—has not been present at his wake, and today, knowing that we should observe a moment of silence to honor his memory, their absence at the beginning of the session reflects a petty, nitpicking attitude that showcases your spiritual and moral emptiness... If you were in Vigen Khachatryan's place, Vigen Khachatryan would have attended your wake."
It should be noted that tensions rose in the National Assembly hall as ruling party and opposition members began to argue and insult each other. Ruben Rubinyan urged them to stop the debate; however, the tension escalated during Hayk Konyan's speech. For more details, watch the video.
