US Has No Connection to Events in Russia, Says Biden

US President Joe Biden stated on Monday that Washington and its allies are not involved in the situation related to the Wagner group in Russia. “We have made it clear that we are not involved in this, we have no connection to this situation; these are internal Russian events,” Biden said during a speech at the White House.

He added that he discussed the situation with “key allies.” According to Biden, they “agreed that we should not give Russia grounds to blame the West and NATO for what happened.”

Furthermore, Biden noted that as soon as events involving the Wagner group began to unfold in Russia, he instructed his national security team to “monitor the situation closely (...) and prepare for various scenarios.”

Additionally, Biden stated that the US would continue to support Ukraine “regardless of what happens in Russia.”
