Turkish Lira Hits New Low Today

Today, on June 26, the Turkish currency has recorded a new minimum against the US dollar. The exchange rate has exceeded 26 lira for one dollar. Currently, according to trading data, the American currency is being sold for 25.88 Turkish lira.

On June 22, it was announced that the Central Bank of Turkey decided to raise the key interest rate from 8.5% to 15%. This is the first decision made by the new head of the Central Bank.
