Rescue Teams in Artsakh Discover 159 Units of Various Types and Calibers of Munitions in One Week
The Artsakh Emergency Situations State Service has summarized last week's activities. From June 19 to 26, 2023, the emergency service's central and regional departments recorded 1,103 calls, including 11 man-made incidents and 47 domestic-related calls.
Due to rising temperatures, there has been an increase in occurrences of reptiles appearing in residential areas. A total of 8 calls were registered regarding the discovery of snakes, with 4 in Stepanakert, 3 in Martakert, and one case in the Martuni region. The emergency service advises that if reptiles are found, individuals should not act independently but rather report immediately to the service's hotline at 911.
During this period, there were no recorded fire incidents, which can be attributed to daily rainfall. However, the fire hazard season has already begun. In this regard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting relevant awareness-raising and preventive measures to ensure public safety, prevent fires, and organize firefighting operations promptly.
In parallel, the service conducts relevant training and practical exercises on a daily basis.
In the past week, emergency responders conducted 6 missions. Approximately 159 units of various types and calibers of munitions were discovered. To ensure the safe movement of the population, the emergency responders are conducting reconnaissance and munitions detonation operations in residential areas and agricultural lands.
During the past week, the rapid response special division operational teams carried out the opening of 9 locked doors and 8 elevators. With the assistance of rescuers, 7 citizens were transported to medical facilities.
