Citizens of Armenia and Georgia will cross each other's borders without the need for visas. The details of the agreement, pending ratification, were presented at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly by Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan.
He recalled that on January 12, 2023, Armenia and Georgia signed a document aimed at allowing citizens of both countries to travel mutually without visas, using only identification (ID) cards. Today, the agreement was submitted for ratification.
"The draft law has been developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The adoption of the law will ensure the procedures necessary for the agreement to enter into force," Safaryan stated.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also noted that information will be provided today regarding when the agreement will come into effect.
