760 People Affected by Sandstorms in Southeastern Iran
At least 764 people have been affected by sandstorms in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan, according to reports from the ISNA news agency referencing local rescue services.
Rescue data indicates that over the last five days, at least 764 residents from the northern part of the province sought medical assistance, with 115 still hospitalized. Meteorologists have noted that horizontal visibility in the region has decreased to 3 kilometers, including at the airport in Zahedan, the administrative center of Sistan and Baluchistan.
Weather experts emphasize that although the intensity of the sandstorm is currently decreasing, it is still premature to talk about its cessation. An orange level weather danger alert has been issued in the province. Residents are advised to refrain from unnecessary travel, especially those with respiratory conditions, children, and the elderly.
It has been reported previously that a sandstorm was recorded in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province. According to certain sources, 330 individuals had sought help at medical centers, with 57 requiring hospitalization.
