Did US Security Officials Know About Prigozhin's Plans? The New York Times
American national security officials reportedly became aware of Prigozhin's plans and the operations of the Wagner military organization just two days ago, according to The New York Times.
Media reports indicate that they warned the administration, the Department of Defense, and representatives of the US Congress about an imminent provocation.
It is noted that following these reports, Washington became concerned about how Prigozhin's actions might affect control over Russia's nuclear arsenal.
CNN, for its part, reports that at the beginning of the week, American intelligence officials informed congressional leaders about the movement of Wagner personnel and equipment near Russia's borders.
However, according to media reports, intelligence officials admitted that they do not fully understand Prigozhin's objectives.
