“Why Should We Study and Work?” Iran’s First Lady Calls Education and Employment ‘Form of Violence’
Iran's First Lady Jamileh-Sadat Alamolhoda has labeled the act of women studying and working as a "form of violence." According to her, the residents of countries should not strive to be like men, as reported by Iran International.
The first lady stated that governments have subjected women to sexual violence by allowing them to work and learn under the pretext of freedom. "We want women to remain women. Why should we have to be like men? Why should we study, work, or live like men? This is a form of violence," she said.
It is worth noting that last year, a girl named Mahsa Amini died in Iran after being detained by the police for improperly wearing her hijab and later beaten to death in a police station. This incident sparked widespread protests across Iran, where women burned their hijabs and cut their hair.
