Macron Says He Is Ready to Talk to Putin If Russian President Expresses Such Desire
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has stated that he is willing to speak with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, if the Russian leader expresses such a desire. This was reported by TACC.
“Of course, I will respond if Putin calls,” Macron said during an interview with France 24 on Friday. “I personally have no reason to call. The Ukrainian counter-offensive is ongoing. I hope the time for negotiations regarding Ukraine's conditions will come. But if he calls me to offer something, then I will respond because France has always been a mediating country.”
Macron emphasized that “the resumption of dialogue today is possible only if there is a return to international law, which ensures the possibility of living in peace.”
