We Set the Agenda for the Region After the War: Aliyev
“Everyone can see today that the forces that once demanded some kind of status for the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are now making completely different statements. Even the leaders of Armenia are echoing my words that ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan’,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with the military command.
“We prepared for the Second Karabakh War and did not hide it,” Aliyev stated, adding that after the second war, they are the ones setting the agenda for the region.
According to Aliyev, one of their top priorities today is building the army, while another is the restoration of “Karabakh” and “Eastern Zangezur.” Additionally, the Azerbaijani president noted that the number of special forces within the country, particularly in the Ministry of Defense, has significantly increased.
Aliyev declared that the objective is singular: “to protect our territory, ensure our country's territorial integrity, and deliver crushing blows to enemy forces in the event of threats to our security.”
