Lanjik-Gyumri Dual-Lane Road to be Expanded into Four-Lane

The Road Department Foundation reports that construction works continue on the Lanjik-Gyumri section of the North-South Road, Tranche 3. Various types of activities are underway along the 23 km stretch of road, including earthworks, asphalting, construction of bridges, overhead and underground crossings, agricultural machinery crossings, transport hubs, drainage systems, and other artificial structures.

As a result of the construction, the existing dual-lane road will be expanded into a four-lane road. The construction works are being carried out by the Chinese company Sinohydro Corporation, with technical supervision provided by ARD Engineering.

The construction of the Lanjik-Gyumri section is funded by the Republic of Armenia's state budget and by loan and grant funds from the European Investment Bank. The project is being implemented by the Road Department Foundation.
