Which are the richest countries in the world: Armenia is ahead of Azerbaijan by 7 points

Armenia ranks seven points ahead of Azerbaijan in the list of the world's richest countries and is only one point behind Iran. American financial magazine Global Finance has published the list of the world's richest countries for 2023, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.

The ranking is based on the size of gross domestic product (GDP) calculated on the basis of purchasing power parity. The list is topped by Ireland, Luxembourg, and Singapore.

Among the countries in our region, Turkey ranks first with a position of 53rd in the ranking. Following Turkey is Georgia in 79th place, while Iran ranks lower at 84th. Armenia is in the 85th position, and Azerbaijan rounds out the regional list at 92nd place.
