VIDEO. ‘I hope we haven’t forgotten that pensions should be raised once again from July 1’ - Pashinyan

According to the government’s decision, the deadline for providing reimbursements to pensioners from cashless payments has been extended until December 31, 2023.

The Prime Minister noted that pensions were raised twice last year, but he considers that they were raised three times, taking into account the effect of cashless transactions. “I hope we haven’t forgotten that pensions should be raised once again from July 1,” Pashinyan stated.

“Sometimes we increase pensions by 3,000 drams. We are simply asking our beneficiaries to make a small change in their daily living logic to support the government on this matter. I also want to say that our budgetary matters are good, our economic matters are good, and this raises a logical question: why do pensions increase by 3,000 drams? The reason is very simple: it is one thing to raise the allocated amount for 595,000 people, and another thing to raise the amount allocated for 1,000 people. Moreover, when raising pensions, the government must calculate how to ensure that it can at least continue to provide that pension indefinitely,” Pashinyan said.
