VIDEO: I Don't Understand Other Banks, Says Pashinyan
The government has extended the deadline for providing refunds to pensioners from cashless payments until December 31, 2023. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated, "There is another matter regarding the funding mechanisms, how we will implement the formula, but this mechanism should constantly be maintained, and we may have to make complex decisions. For example, we should increase pensions through certain formulas in a cashless manner."
According to the Prime Minister, pensions were raised twice last year, but he considers that they were raised three times due to the cashless effect. He expressed hope that they have not forgotten that pensions should be increased once again starting from July 1.
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Narek Mkrtchyan, also informed that four banks are involved in this program: "Haybusiness," "Akba," "Ardshin," and "VTB." Pashinyan responded, "I don't understand other banks that are shying away from social responsibility." He noted that out of 595,000 pensioners and beneficiaries, 114,000 have benefited from this cashless program.
