State Protection Granted to Tigran Arzakanian

According to our sources, Tigran Arzakanian, a permanent member of the meeting format with extra-parliamentary forces and leader of the "Power of the Homeland" party, has been granted state protection. He is currently accompanied and secured by police officers who are permanently assigned to him. This was reported by the newspaper "Hraparak."

We were informed that police protection has been provided to Tigran Arzakanian in connection with the case of Vardan Gukasyan (Dog), Artak Galstyan, and others. It is noteworthy that Arzakanian had given testimony against Dog, stating that he was extorted for money in exchange for not using offensive language during live broadcasts.

As part of the initiated criminal case, a significant number of individuals have been arrested, including Artak Galstyan, the president of the "Public Voice" party, his wife, and several close associates who have allegedly been involved in extortions involving Vardan Gukasyan. Many individuals, according to the investigative body, have paid them to prevent sexual insults from being directed at them on-air and to avoid the publication of compromising materials, as well as to ensure that Dog does not retaliate against them. The criminal case consists of numerous episodes, and there are a group of victims involved, with an ongoing investigation.

We initially tried to verify with the police why officers are accompanying Arzakanian, what threats he faces, and whether Arzakanian had requested police to ensure his safety, or whether the law enforcement agencies deemed additional security measures necessary in light of the mentioned criminal case.

The police informed us that security is provided by order of the investigator, and thus they cannot comment further. The Investigative Committee also required a written inquiry to answer this straightforward question. It should be noted that we also attempted to clarify these matters with Tigran Arzakanian, but throughout the day, he either turned off his phone or simply did not answer calls.
