Man in India Kept His Twin Inside His Abdomen for 36 Years, Dubbed 'Pregnant Man'
In the Indian city of Nagpur, a man who appeared pregnant lived for 36 years with a twin inside his belly. This is reported by Daily Star.
According to the publication, Sanju Bhagat was referred to as a 'pregnant man' due to his large belly, despite not having such a problem in his childhood. His belly began to grow after he turned 20, when he was working daily on a farm to support his family.
It is noted that Bhagat did not seek medical help due to poverty. In 1999, the pressure on his diaphragm became so severe that he could barely breathe, after which he was urgently transported to a hospital in Mumbai. Doctors suspected that Bhagat had a massive malignant tumor.
However, during the surgery, the surgeons discovered a human inside Bhagat's abdomen, who had limbs, part of reproductive organs, a jaw, and hair. It was revealed that during Bhagat's mother's pregnancy, one twin had developed inside the other. This occurs in 1 in 500,000 cases. When one child is born, the other continues to live inside as a parasite.
It is reported that Bhagat refused to look at his twin and returned to his job after the surgery.
