Heavy Rainfall and Mudflow in Lori: Akhtala-Shamlugh Road Closed in Both Directions

On June 22, at 17:45, the crisis management center of the Lori Regional Rescue Department received information that a mudflow has occurred on the Akhtala-Shamlugh highway due to heavy rainfall, resulting in the road being closed in both directions. This information was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue department has been dispatched to the scene. Rescuers have cordoned off the area.

At the scene, one dump truck, one excavator, and one lift from the Akhtala mining and enrichment plant are currently operating.
