Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Agree to An Unregulated Fight
The owner of Twitter, 51-year-old Elon Musk, and Meta Corporation's head, 39-year-old Mark Zuckerberg, have announced their intention to fight without rules. Musk initially made the suggestion, to which Zuckerberg agreed.
At the beginning of June, The Wall Street Journal reported that Meta was preparing to launch an application to compete with Twitter. Musk later stated that he was "ready to rumble in the ring" with Zuckerberg if he agreed.
Zuckerberg responded on Instagram by posting a screenshot of Musk's post with the comment, "Send your location." Musk then provided the address on Twitter, stating, "Vegas Octagon."
"I have a great move that I call the sea lion, where I just lay on my opponent and do nothing," Musk added a few minutes later.
He later mentioned that he "almost never trains," except for the occasional act of throwing his children in the air.
As noted by The Verge, 51-year-old Musk is physically larger than Zuckerberg and has previously claimed to have participated in "brutal street fights" in South Africa, where he grew up. Meanwhile, 39-year-old Zuckerberg is an ambitious MMA fighter who is already winning in jiu-jitsu competitions.
The Wall Street Journal also reports that Meta is preparing to launch its own application similar to the Twitter social network. According to WSJ, the product's chief director Chris Cox presented a project called Project 92 as "Meta's answer to Twitter." Cox mentioned that Meta is negotiating with prominent figures such as Oprah Winfrey and the Dalai Lama to agree to use the app, stating that they hope to launch the application as soon as possible.
