VIDEO: There is a consensus that the unblocking process begins with the re-commissioning of the Yeraskh-Horadiz railway
In response to the question of whether the routes through Armenia will be governed by Armenian legislation, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated, “This is definitely the case.” He said this during a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly.
Commenting on the unblocking and the November 9 statement regarding the presence of Russian border troops in the unblocked sections, Grigoryan noted, “There will still be discussions regarding the implementation of functions.”
“There is an important consensus that the unblocking process begins with the re-commissioning of the Yeraskh-Horadiz railway, which I believe is significant because it is specific and clear what the discussion encompasses—this conversation is about the railway. I believe there is a final understanding that the regulations must be under the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the countries through which the railway passes. I do not have details on other issues as there is not yet a final consensus. All participants of our platform—the participants in the trilateral work—share this understanding,” Grigoryan said.
