VIDEO: Jose Mourinho Suspended After Sevilla-Roma Incident
UEFA's disciplinary committee has suspended Italian club Roma's coach José Mourinho for four matches. This was reported by UEFA's official website. The reason cited was Mourinho's behavior towards the main referee Anthony Taylor during the Europa League final against Spanish club Sevilla.
Sevilla had won the match in penalties. This was Mourinho's first loss in a European final. The British referee showed 14 yellow cards during the match, the highest ever in a Europa League game.
"It was an intense, vibrant game with a referee who seemed Spanish. It was always yellow, yellow, yellow," the Portuguese coach commented on the game.
After the match, a video widely circulated on social media shows Mourinho hurling a series of insults at officials in the parking lot, calling their officiating a "disgrace."
