NATO to Assist Ukraine in Modernizing Armed Forces

NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has promised Ukraine continued assistance in modernizing its armed forces. He stated, "At the Vilnius summit of alliance nations, allies will adopt a long-term assistance package that will align Ukraine with NATO standards. With our support, Ukrainian soldiers will be able to transition from the Soviet army to modern armed forces operating according to NATO standards."

According to Stoltenberg, they see that Ukraine is once again able to achieve territorial gains. "But this is a complex area, and the Russian army has built strong defensive lines, mined fields, and tank barriers. It is not easy for Ukrainians to advance, so our support is very important," added Stoltenberg.
