Is the Question of Suspending and Terminating Membership in the CSTO Under Discussion? Deputy Prime Minister Responds
During a briefing with reporters, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan addressed Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement that the West aims to divide the CSTO.
"The issues that exist are very well known to you, and we have spoken publicly about these issues. All responses related to these problems have been public as well. Now, what significance this will have for the organization and what the consequences will be, please evaluate for yourselves," he stated.
Regarding whether the issue of suspending and terminating Armenia's membership in the CSTO is being discussed, Mher Grigoryan noted, "All similar questions should be viewed within the realm of public and official positions."
In response to a journalist's observation that there are reports suggesting the issue of suspending Armenia's CSTO membership was discussed some time ago in the Security Council, he said, "The questions discussed in the Security Council are public to the extent that we will talk about them as much as those questions can be public. I neither deny nor confirm any other matters," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
