Criminal Proceedings Initiated Regarding Incident Involving Surik Khachatryan's Son, Says Investigative Committee

The Investigative Committee of Syunik has initiated criminal proceedings against Tigran Khachatryan, son of former Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan, in connection with an incident where a resident of Goris sustained injuries and sought medical assistance. The proceedings are based on Articles 335 (1) regarding the illegal circulation of firearms and explosives, and 297 (3) concerning hooliganism involving the use or threat of using firearms or objects adapted for inflicting bodily harm.

According to reports, there is evidence linking Tigran Khachatryan to the incident, which is currently being verified within the scope of the proceedings. An investigation is underway, including appropriate investigative and operational measures to clarify the circumstances of the event.

It should be noted that according to media reports, three incidents involving Tigran Khachatryan occurred the day before. Reports indicate that he had insulted the wife of a police officer in a busy part of the city and later got into a fight with a vegetable vendor. In the evening, he argued with a 46-year-old employee of a tire shop, during which shots were fired, injuring the victim in the right hand. The victim was hospitalized, with claims that the altercation was triggered by him being called 'Tiko.'
