92-Year-Old Creator of First Thermonuclear Bomb Commits Suicide in Moscow
Grigori Klinishov, one of the creators of the first two-stage thermonuclear RDS-37 bomb in the USSR, has committed suicide in Moscow. This was reported by REGNUM.
Relatives discovered the 92-year-old engineer-physicist's body today in his apartment. He had left a farewell note for his family, which was found near his body.
Engineer-physicist Grigori Emelyanovich Klinishov was born on October 30, 1930. He was a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences and a recipient of the Lenin Prize in 1962. He participated in the development of the RDS-37 two-stage thermonuclear bomb, crafting the charge for it.
