Explosion and Fire at Oil Depot in Kyrgyzstan; Casualties Reported

An oil depot has caught fire in the city of Shopokov, located not far from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. This information was reported by Kyrgyz media.

According to eyewitnesses, explosions were heard before the fire started.

The country’s Ministry of Health has confirmed that the fire was caused by an explosion of a cistern, and four people were injured. One of the injured individuals was transferred to the intensive care unit in critical condition, while three others were taken to the orthopedic department.

A team of doctors has been dispatched from Bishkek via air ambulance to assist in Shopokov. Currently, three emergency response teams are working on-site.
