Armenia National Team Players Discuss Yesterday's Match

The captain of the Armenia national football team, Varazdat Haroyan, considers the victory against Latvia to be more challenging than the match against Wales. “I congratulate our entire nation on this important victory. Continuous victories are sweeter. It turned out to be a more difficult game than the one against Wales. The Latvian team played a somewhat unique style of football,” he said.

Forward Hrant-Leo Ranoss also expressed pride in the team's victory against Latvia. “I am very happy that we won and secured 6 points in two matches. I am proud of my team and that we were able to win,” Ranoss noted. Speaking about the Latvian team, the forward said that the opponents had a good squad and the match was tough. However, sometimes you need luck in football. “Of course, you get tired playing for 90 minutes, but we had just as much time to recover as Latvia did. But we are happy that we won,” emphasized Ranoss.

Defender Styopa Mkrtchyan believes that the victory against Latvia is the result of united teamwork. “The match turned out to be very difficult. The team was indeed exhausted after the game against Wales. There was no time for proper recovery. But the entire team worked hard. We managed to perform at our best. We won and have three points,” Mkrtchyan said.

It should be noted that in the third match of the European Championship qualifiers, the Armenia national team, playing at home against Latvia, triumphed with a score of 2:1. This was the team's second consecutive victory in the qualifying round.
