Thibaut Courtois Leaves Belgium National Football Team Amid Discontent

Thibaut Courtois has left the Belgium national football team. This was reported by Sports.ru.

Earlier, it was reported that Courtois was dissatisfied with Romelu Lukaku being appointed captain of the national team in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, instead of himself. The team is also discussing Courtois's discontent regarding rotation.

According to NU, the words of the national team's head coach Domenico Tedesco concerning the captain's armbands have upset the Real Madrid goalkeeper. Tedesco stated, “I have spoken to Romelu and Thibaut. Romelu will wear the armband against Austria, while Thibaut will wear it against the Estonia national team. It’s important for us that he feels valued as well.”

The Royal Belgian Football Association confirmed that Courtois will not play against Estonia on Tuesday, without explaining the reason for his absence. Tedesco is expected to address questions regarding Courtois's situation at a pre-match press conference on Monday.
